Amsterdam neighbourhoods rated by their residents (2025)
The people who live somewhere know it best. Every two years the city asks residents to rate their own neighbourhood from 1 to 10 (Wonen in Amsterdam survey). These are the average scores for 344 buurten (2025), best first. A buurt only gets a score when at least 20 residents answered.
Amsterdam average: 7.4

How this list is made
- Source: residents' average score for their own neighbourhood, 1 to 10 (BBGA indicator LBUURT_R), Wonen in Amsterdam survey, most recent round (2025).
- Buurten with fewer than 500 residents are left out, and the city reports no score where fewer than 20 residents answered.
- A score sums up everything at once: housing, upkeep, neighbours, nuisance and safety. Use it next to the crime and price figures, not instead of them.
- The survey runs every two years; this table refreshes automatically when a new round is published.
